The task of developing new bodily structures is nearing an end as most of baby's systems are fully formed. Little fetus weighs as much as half an ounce now. The size of a large plum — busily working his or her way through the whole produce department. Fitting too b/c I seem to be craving plums a lot recently. It's hard to believe (especially from the outside, since I'm barely showing at this point), but baby has more than doubled in size during the past three weeks. And that's just on the outside — there's plenty going on inside too. The fetal digestive system is beginning to flex its digestive muscle — literally — as it starts practicing contraction movements, a skill baby will need after birth to push food through the digestive tract.
Also last week I had a Dr.s apt and was able to hear baby's heart beat with a very fast beat of 175, which indicates a girl but at 11 weeks it's always really fast so we aren't counting on that. In 5 weeks everyone I will go see what I'm having...yes my Dr. loves to find out early so YAH!

I love your descriptions of the baby's development. It is such fun and fascinating to see how this little one is developing and growing so quickly!

It's all so exciting! Being pregnant is so amazing and you pull it off so beautifullly. I'm never real in tune with my body like you are explaining. It's fascinating. I love to hear all about it. Love to you. --Cousin S.
